Default Shifting Selector out of Whack?

Hey everyone,
Lately Ive noticed my shifting selector in the cluster is way off. It doesnt seem to want to go all the way down, so the orange indicator lies between 1 and 2 when in 1 for example. Screws me up alot now cus sometimes it goes into 2 when I think its in D.... any way to readajust this? and why did this happen all of a sudden?

It slowly happens over time...due to the tab on the steering column, pop the kick panel off and look at the steering column, there will be a white plastic adjustment on the passenger side(IIRC) adjust that the way you need if you use that all up and its still not correct, you can bend the metal tab to correct it, once the panel is off it will be pretty easy to find.

If you can't fix it an easy way to shift without the selector is...When you pull the shifter to release it so you can bring it out of Park, once it is out of park stop pulling it and let it go. Just push the shifter straight down and it will stop in D.

Or the cable may have just come loose. On the steerin column, it is a white clip with a cable goof through it. At the end of the cable is a metal tab. it needs to be connected to a clip on the column. Mine was off one time and screwed up my selector lol
