RE: front axle seal leaking
Haven't changed seals on a 2nd gen half ton, but I've changed them on my 3/4 ton.

RE: front axle seal leaking
if its like my 98, its simple. take off the tire and brake caliper, then the rotor. theres 3 bolts on mine holding the axle in. the bolt heads are on the inside of the hub assembly (bolts go in from the back) then pry the hub assembly from the truck and the spindle (where the rotor sits) and the axle pulls right out. you might need to replace the brake backing plate for the prying off of the axle mounting plate, at least on mine, sucked
