Default Tranny wont catch gears

Whenever I'm in park going to drive. My truck somtimes dosent catch gear and go into drive so I maximize the RPM (only a little bit) till she catches.

This hasn't been a problem until i changed my tranny fluid, filter, and gasket. I went to NAPA and they gave me the tanny filter but it didn't have the metal "shell" only the interior filter. They said it wouldn't be a problem besides it was either a $6 filter without the shell or $45 filter with the shell.

Or could it be the type of fluid I used or that I might be runin low?

Always Appreciate it guys

what type of fluid did you use? ATF +4? did you do a complete transflush or just drain the pan also did you put the truck in neutral and check the fluid while it was running?
