Here ya go: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html
I'd go with the AL plate, I just cant justify $600 for a new intake (airgap)

The cheapest way is to replace the factory tin plate with the after market aluminum one. After market intakes run close to 600 bucks new and I have yet to find a used one. I know which route I will be taking with mine and that is the plate and a new gasket. Plate on E-bay is around 50 or 60 bucks.

while your chasing down the oil leaks you might want to replace the plenum gasket.
theres a dozen threads and even a diy on how to do it.

I will get to that too, I just have to pick my battles right now and I hate the stain on the drive way from the gear box.
My life changed big about 10 weeks ago with the birth of my little baby girl so I don't get as much time as I use to for these repairs but that is ok as I love to spend time with her!

Super nice truck, GREAT price. If I paid 1500 for a 2ndgen like that, I would not even be sad if the tranny went out. I would just get a PATC for 2100 and then have a very dependable truck. 3600 total investment would be worth every penny!
The trannies are the only bad thing about our trucks....well, only MAJOR bad thing. Then there is the plenum. But that is a quick fix. Just something a bit extra if you plan on a coolant flush and a tune up.

I bought it under the pre-tense that the tranny was out and that is why it was so cheap. I am not sure what the previous owner was talking about as I have been driving it around for a couple weeks and other than the front seal leak it seams ok. I do plan to re-build the tranny in the near future but in the mean time I will keep driving until I see or hear a sign of it going out.
I did have to fix an ABS light but that was just the rear wheel speed sensor. It was also very dirty so I gave it a good bath and all is well.

i just got past all my trans problems. i replaced governor pressure sensor, governor pressure solenoid, tc lock-up switch, had the front and rear bands tightened, new filter and atf+4.
then i added a aux trans cooler, filter and guage.
shifts like a brand new truck now! all in all i spent about $400 on parts and $100 in labor.
i thought i was gonna have to spend $1900 on a new trans, so $500 aint bad.
