Default Head work...

So I found out that a few of my valve stem seals have gone bad and I have to replace them. I know its possible to replace them without taking the heads off, but I figured I would go the whole nine yards. So in about a month I will be taking off the heads and sending them to a machine shop to get them cleaned and checked for any defects. I will also be getting the valves ground and polished while its there. The guy that I'm sending them to said he'll charge around 100 per head, so I didn't think that would be too bad. Has anyone had their heads done before? Like what gains will I hopefully be getting?

$100 per head is a very good price if he is completely rebuilding. I would not do all the work to put any thing less than full rebuilds on. jm2c's
however be ready for them to be cracked at the valve seats, very common. am going with oddessa heads my self as I bought two motors for rebuild start and ended up with 4 cracked heads. oops. thought I had that base covered lol.
