Default Key fob

Ok I have a 2001 ram and I lost the key fob. My dad gave me an extra he had lying around. How do I make this work on my truck? Do I have to take it to the dealer, or is there a learn process I can do myself. I set one up once before on my Subaru and it was really simple.

The first one has to be programmed by the dealership. Once you have one programmed, you can do the rest yourself.

If they want more than $40-$50 to program it for you, go to another dealership. Mine was $38 or something programmed before tax. Some $tealerships really rape you with those dang FOBs.

I thought that I read somewhere on this forum that it could be done thought the OBD2 port with a jumper wire. I can't seem to find that thread now and I can't remember what it said to do.
