Ok I went and changed my tranny fluid like a good dodge boy and adjusted the band by the procedure in my hanes manual and now truck wont go into gear all the time or stay engaged. Before this tranny was fine. I redrained the tranny and redid the adjustment but no change. I have to believe the book is wrong (either that or I can't read). Question is how many turns do you guys back off after hitting 72 inch pounds? My truck is a 99 4x4 quad with 46re tranny.

Never mind the band adjust procedure was right the fluid amount for a filter change was wrong. The book states 4 quarts and ended up closer to 6. My bad fluid looked like it was up on the stick but it was just residual and not actual reading.
