Default post tune-up issue

The other day, I put new plug wires on, and ngk spark plugs. Everything went great, even though i forgot anti-seize last time i did 'em. I used it this time. At the same time, I removed the throttle body, and cleaned out the IAC port, and the IAC sensor, carefully. There was actually quite a bit of crap on that sensor, and afterwards it does idle smoother. Doesn't jump all over the place, while sitting at a red light.

I'm having 1 issue though, and I'd appreciate any thoughts on what it may be. It doesn't seem to accelerate (with low throttle input) as easily as it did before the change. If I mash on the pedal, it gets after it, like I think it did before. And also, occasionally, when shifting gears, usually 1-2, or 2-3, when i let off the clutch and hit the gas in the new gear something pops under the hood. Sounds like detonation or something. I dont think its a backfire, as it sounds like its coming from directly in front of me. The closest thing I can compare it to, is maybe putting a firecracker inside of an aluminum can, filled with sand. Does that make sense? lol. Kind of a muffled aluminum sounding pop. Detonation in the chamber, or the exhaust manifold or something. It doesn't do it everytime, maybe once a day, usually when the truck is cold still, and i take off driving. It also did it once, while I was in 4th gear doing roughly 25 mph, so low rpms, and I put the pedal to the floor, it went "pop", then started picking up speed.

One thing that's got me wondering if I did something wrong, was last year I messed up the number 5 plug wire, right before going on a trip, and didn't have money or time to fix it then. So I towed my pop up camper about 250 miles with the messed up plug wire on, and it did the same pop sound everytime I started going up a hill, and had to push on the throttle.

I'm pretty sure I routed the wires correctly, as per the TSB, and I also gapped all the plugs to .040 like the sticker in the engine compartment says to do. Anyone ever have this problem?? I dont wanna crack my heads or something more serious. It drives fine 99% of the time, besides that popping sound, and seemingly slower acceleration than before. And totally forgot until now, but the ticking sound I had before the change, disappeared when I did the tune-up, but now it's back worse. Think I'm going back to conventional oil, as the ticking sounds like its coming from the valve covers, but ofc, I'm not sure. Anyways, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Dont wanna blow ma truck up

Recheck your firing order. Make sure all the wires are on nice and tight.

Did you reset your PCM after the TB clean? (just disconnect the battery for a few minutes.)

thanks heyyou. I will recheck the firing order, and wire routing. And when I took the throttle body off to clean it, the neg cable was unplugged the whole time. I did that first, then did the wires while the throttle body and air cleaner were outta the way. When I was done with reassembly I reconnected the battery cable. So negative was unplugged for an hour roughly. Is that long enough?
