Putting it mildly. Coming out took about 15 minutes. Going back in took me over an hour....... And I don't even remember why I pulled the damn thing. Or even if I did it on purpose........

The easiest way is to run the engine up to normal operating temperature for around five minutes, then squirt a little penetrating oil around the base of the elbow. Grab hold of the elbow with a rag, and pull. Putting it back while the grommet's still nice and warm is cake, piece of, one each.

BTW, for those who aren't aware of it: 05h17 = "oh <poop>".

Well that does sound like a PITA haha I need to pull mine though because of the oil coming out of it (going against the air flow though is strange....)

I know it doesn't pertain to ur problem, as ur having an issue with the elbow but just to clarify: The smaller filter I was talking about works the same as the tube going to the air filter does, minus the tube. It sucks clean air into the crankcase. And looks cooler.

Not relevant. If he didn't have enough of an answer, he would have said so, YEARS ago. It is against forum etiquette to resurrect long dead threads. Please don't do that.

are you referring to the crankcase breather? They'll plug up too and cause blow-by issues
