Its possible..... something to look at anyway, it is a common point of failure.

Sure? No. But, it IS a known failure point, and it can give the same symptoms you are talking about. It doesn't hurt to check, just to BE sure that is NOT it.

Do a google search on transfer case saver. You will find that this is such a common failure, the aftermarket came out with a Fix for it.

The transfer case on my truck has never been touched since the truck was brand new. and Could there be cogs/gears missing the teeth from chipping that could be the chain slipping to
