ive never seen anyone do this, maybe there is a reason for that. but this was stupid simple to do and me and a buddy did it in a hour.

cut the rivets off with the torch
flipped the shackle up, didnt even take it off
bolted it back in the lower holes on the frame/ upper holes in the bracket
and i can use the upper holes in the frame to drill new upper holes for the bracket. i only have 2 bolts in it right now. it gave me somewhere between 1-1.5'' of lift which i thought was good for no money and not much time to do it.

I got custom made brackets to give me the most out the swap. It puts the shackle mounting hole below the frame rail insted of near the top of the frame rail like using the stock bracket. It gave me 3.25in lift, but moved the axle forward 1in. So for yours it may move it .5-1in. yeah forget that crap... way to much lol... for 1000 bucks i can get a complete 6in lift

 

But that complete kit will most likely come with rear blocks to lift the rear.
And the 2nd gen rams have a factory 3" block on the 4x4's. Or you could upgrade for more $$$ to a aal but those usually give you a rough ride.

What these guys are doing is cheap and easy depending on your skills and tools.
Speakin of tools, I wish that I had a fork lift around to help me lift ****! lol

 

yeah blocks aren't bad at all.... i have 2 4in blocks stacked on my wheeler... the lift i found comes with 5.5in blocks and 1.5ui add a leafs......

Sk8erdude did you also chop off your exhaust while you were back there? Looks like its dumped right above the rear axle.

 

It does look that way. Mine is chopped quite a good ways before the axle. Give a nice rumble inside the cab. I paid for the headers/ high flow cat / super 44 muffler... I wanna hear it!!
