The removal of TM probably won't increase your times too much. But, it will make it much more enjoyable to drive as the tranny won't be hunting for another gear.

I do have a lot to make my truck move that fast though. and for a 5.2 i lose a bit for traction loss at the initial punch. Stock trans went bad shortly after doing this at every stoplight lol. Possibilities.. modded kegger and 3.92's or better that previous owner could have done.. and motor was rebuilt 20k miles ago by the owner although i think it was a stock rebuild. kinda want to know if anything was done. my low end is awesome
do you have receipts that it was "rebuilt"? Reason I ask is that a rebuild kit is basically a gasket kit. All a rebuild consists of is changing the gaskets and maybe or maybe not some headwork (springs, valve job, seals). It is not guaranteed that the cylinders were honed and the piston rings were replaced.

Truthfully i personally think that your statment is entirely true. Im pretty sure He fixed the plenum and it was considered rebuilt. I have 148 k plus miles but it moves with some authority. Bone stock when i got it except the exhaust cat back at the angle. Ive done the kitty killing, low restrictive muffler adding, header enducing, completely breathable exhaust with just enough back pressure to the dual in dual out tips as in the sig pic. I did use the jet stage 2 at that time so it was tuned slightly but I dislike jet alot. My 0-60 bone stock was 12-14 sec. around there which was flippin slow. I would love to see low 7 high 6 with the next couple of mods. ..they again are sports performance trans rebuild..literally will be a breeze to chirp the tires, mopar pcm, and possibly even some HS 1.7 rr's of course with a fresh tune up.

I strongly hope you say 17 seconds on the 1/4 mile. I dont know mine. No track to test it on. my 8.2 time was my 0-60 which needs to be updated soon. I hope youd at least hit 60 at about 10-12 ..at least

NEVERMIND! Forgot your stats are on the first page and your the OP. oops lol. Scratch my above statment
