That is actually incorrect. The only trucks that had the option of 4 wheel ABS were a few in 2001 that also had 4 wheel discs as an option, and to this date I've only heard that claimed. I've actually never seen one here or in person.

Regardless, as others have stated, ABS is not the ice-saver, unfortunately.

In mine, if I lock up my brakes at any decent speed, I feel the rear wheels "pulsate" (ABS) like they're supposed to.

Oh and if the brights indicator always stays on, I think that usually indicates some sort of wiring issue with the headlights, so maybe something is shorted out inside that DRL module.

The problem the OP has when he plugs the connector in is indicative of a DRL module. It looks different than mine but I'm guessing he has an earlier year truck. Not quite enough info to go on even with the pics.
By chance is the truck Canadian or does it show an export sticker on the door jam?

I would have to say that it is the DRL module, when they go bad most people just unplug them because everything else will work just fine without it, minus the drl's which just means if you live in canada you just have to keep turning your lights on

If you dont live in canada dont sweat it, if you do I would not get one from the junkyard as this is a really common fail point

My 2000 ram 1500 has ABS wires running to the front wheels for a sensor on each wheel. Doesn't that mean I have 4 wheel ABS?

Yes but 4 wheel abs was only an option on 1500's. I believe all 3/4 and 1 tons had it.

Yes if you have sensors in the front then you have 4 wheel abs, 4 wheel abs started in 1998 as an option on all 1500's, 2 wheel abs was standard on all 94-01's but is about useful as a pole in wet weather.

4 wheel antilock disk brakes were only put on 2001.5-2002 year model 2500 and 3500. It was never offered on 1500's. The rest are RWAL only.

FWIW 4wal was an option prior to 01 I've talked with others that have them.
Not sure when the 4wal four disc system started. But I have the 4wal 4 disc system on mine.
To the OP Yes it sounds like the Daytime module

If you dont believe what I wrote call your local dealer and ask for the part number for the front sensor for a 98 they will respond with a number. My friends truck had front abs and we had to replace the sensor, very few 1500's where sold with 4wheel abs but that doesnt mean it wasnt available
