Drove a '10 Charger to chicago last week, and keeping it in the center of the lane on the freeway is a friggin exercise....... Doesn't seem like much has changed there.....

Might want to go back to the alignment shop, and have them increase caster a bit. See if that makes a difference.

well, maybe that is the problem then... i picked up new caster bolts with the offset washer, and they dont feel like they fill in that space on the axle.

Its like the washer (say 1.5") is too small for the cutout (say 2.5"), so there's this gap. I ordered the parts from rockauto, according to my make / model.

Did the 97's use a different size cam/washer than the 98's? or did the sports use a different one?

So far as I know, all the second gen's used the same cam bolts...... on my 96, the cams fill the space rather nicely, there might be an eight inch clearance on one side...... I also seem to remember another member having troubles getting the 'right' cam bolts. If you still have the originals, might wanna take 'em up to the parts store, and see if they can match them up, or, go to the dealer, and bring your vaseline..... and buy them there.

I don't have the originals - I bought it used. It also makes me wonder if the previous owner swapped out the axle or something, because the cams look too small.

Have a look at this article. It might help you troubleshoot your issue.

Cam bolts may have been changed when the lift was installed.....

The previous owner had normal grade 8 bolts with plain washers in there when I bought it.

I actually ordered one cam bolt from rockauto and another from a local auto parts store. They both said this was supposed to be the correct part for my truck, but like i said... there is a lot of gap in that cutout where the cam fits.

I suppose so long as the bolts can properly adjust the caster, size of the cam doesn't really matter..... Do you have the printout of what specs that set your alignment to?

Yes I do. I'll update the thread in about an hour and a half and post that information.

Thanks.

I also wonder if what you are experiencing is Roll Steer, as opposed to bump steer.......

Yeah, I don't think you have nearly enough caster there. Have a look at these specs. Maybe print them off, and have your alignment guy go by them.
