Default Replaced 02 Sensor and Still only 6 MPG

I have a 2001 dodge ram 5.9 with the off road package 53,000 miles. I just replaced the O2 sensor and it ran great for a day and now its back to running poorly and Im only getting 6MPG and there is gas coming out the exhaust pipe if I let it idle for a minute or two. Any ideas?

My 98 acted like this and I changed out my injectors. My engine kept making oil since the injectors were leaking badly. It also ran fairly poorly, lots of soot in the exhaust.

Once I got the injectors out and compared them with the new ones I found the tips were cracked and must have been the source of the leak.

Needless to say it runs a whole lot better now!

could be:
Cap
Rotor
Plugs
Wires

Or:
Injectors

If you need a set of new injectors. I have a 2001 that I swapped injectors. Weird thing is that we have the SAME MILEAGE on our 2001s. I have a 5.9 and the off road package. 25 bucks shipped.

The mileage on the injectors is not a concern. The fact that the injectors are 10+ years old, that might be the culprit.
