I am going to be changing my fluid and filter this weekend, and suspect I may find the same problem, as my OD is shifting funny.

My question is this: Any idea how labor intensive changing that snap ring is? I want to get a rough idea so if I have to take it to a tranny shop I can go in with a little forewarning.

Thanks.

I am not entirely sure just how deep the one that breaks is buried in there, but, the most they should have to do is drop the O/D unit, and disassemble it some..... Shouldn't be more than 4 hours I would think... maybe 5.

I assembled mine in about 3 hours...and that's because I don't have all the proper tools. I had to ad-lib it.
