Idler Pulley and center bolt?
I replaced the Idler Pulley on my ram today and want to make sure it is right. I took it off and replaced it with the same one but my question is the mounting bolt that goes in the center was alot smaller than the hole and there is play all the way around until it it tightened of course. I lined it up in the center and tightened it. This doesn't seem right to me and I think there should be a spacer in there but I am not sure. Anyone have any feedback on this?
There is a bushing that the bolt goes thru and then fits into the idler pulley to take up that extra space. Might be stuck to the old pulley. DO NOT run that truck without the bushing.
go to the dealer and ask for an idler pulley bushing if you cant find the old one.

OK, I picked up the new bushing today for the Idler Pulley. It is flanged on one end. (Picture a spacer with a washer on one end). Does the flanged part of the bushing face out, towards the radiator or does the flanged side face in towards the engine? Any help is greatly appreciated.
