i use my truck as a daily driver, but on my one day off a week im either going down jeep trails or climbing up/down a hill to find a good spot at the guadalupe river

''...JEEPS ARE LIKE TAMPONS, EVERY BI*** NEEDS ONE!.."

i would stick with a ram, they have very stout axles from the factory, d44 & Chry 9.25, and globs of low end torque.
ive personaly have never been stuck bad enough that 4lo couldnt get me out

you might want to look more to the ign coil on the front of the motor passanger side. when it gets wet it will kill the truck till it is dry

How? It is completely sealed, unlike the distributor.

XJ's are dirt cheap and have plenty of bolt ons, Wranglers and the variants are expensive though.

The dana 44 and chrysler 9.25 are about as good as the dana 30 and 35? that are in a stock jeep when factoring in the size and weight of the vehicle. Also the Dodge dana 44 is unit bearing which is not a strong as the selectable hubs found on older jeeps and the 9.25 limits your options for gearing and traction aids.

The jeep 4.0 I6 is very torquey and in a vehicle the size of a cherokee has the same torque to weight ratio with a better hp to weight ratio.

Torque
Ram reg cab lb 360 330 lb-ft/5000lbs= .066
Jeep XJ 4.0L 235/3500 = 0.067

Ram 235hp/5000 = 0.047
XJ= 190hp/3500 = 0.054

Lol i don't think us 2nd gen owners have any room to talk about jeeps rusting out. And any build extreme enough for a d60 on a jeep, yeah that's going to be expensive, but if you want a hard core off road rig it's going to be very expensive no matter what platform.

Other than that gerehead nailed it. We aren't trying to knock the rams here, but to outright put down the jeep like it's a POS and not good to build for off road is crazy.

Ok... I will break it down like this.. I have a ram with 10 inch lift. 39 inch tires... I wheel daily.

mud-ram
sand-either
tight trail- jeep
open trail-ram
things like powerlines-ram
rocks- jeep

been on each terrain.. i like ny ram but as is jeeps are cheaper and do just as much
