Default 5.9 engine build help

Hi.. I have my 360 tore apart and am forced to bore it out due to a broke ring at just over 100.000 miles .. I would love to raise the compression but am keeping most of the engine stock, for now.. once I get the block back I will no what size pistons to order. 0.30 over witch would bring it to a 365. or a 367 if I have to go 0.40 bore.. but I want to no if anybody has raised the COMP. RATIO just buy changing pistons. I would like to get it to 9.5 to 9.7 but I don't want to have to do the heads just yet.. "that's for the 408 build" I am going with new pistons, rings, all bearings, gaskets, valves ext.. and looking at these pistons and useing them for charting-specs info..

Sure, changing pistons to raise compression ratio is a fairly standard tactic for getting more ponies out of your motor. Just keep in mind, that with a different piston, you also have to pay attention to piston to valve clearances, and those numbers will change depending on what cam you decide to use.

Don't bother re-using the stock heads either. They are prone to cracking, and the higher combustion chamber pressures will only make it happen faster. (if they aren't cracked already.....)

Did the machine shop also re-surface the block deck? (where the head bolts on.) That will also raise compression ratio....
