I'll second that statement.

Well I took the throttle body off and cleaned it better and replaced the distributor cap. I reconnected the battery cables and started it right up. Other than a higher idle and forgetting the one large vacuum hose (connects on the driver's side of the air box) the truck sounded fine. Which surprised me because I had pulled all the wires, at the same time, from the distributor cap. removing the wires made it a little easier to get to the screws for me. How ever I did use the diagram in the Haynes book to replace them.

Any ways I took it for a test drive and it shifted much better. There were a couple of times when it shifted to the passing gear a little premature IMO. Then on my way home I tried running it a little harder when it acted like it didn't want to shift until it got up to 3000 RPMs. However the PCM was probably still relearning the settings. Even with that in mind the truck is running better and feels like it needs less throttle to get up speed.

Also, with the throttle body off, I was able to better see in to the plenum. Unfortunately for me there was some oil in it towards the rear that I couldn't see before. In a way it's a relief because I was suspecting something else was wrong because the plug on the rear passenger side looked really horrible when I replaced it and the truck needed the oil topped off occasionally.

On a side note, while test driving my truck, I drove up on a vehicle accident. The road way was packed with folks dressed in their party clothes. I checked on the driver( some one else all ready called 911) and got my first responder bag out. When I got back to the subject and female was with him and had informed me she was an ER nurse. Having been sometime since I had to use any first responder skills I let her take care of the subject using my supplies.
Any ways I noticed she was relatively young and very attractive. She was thin and was wearing a short, tight fitting dress. I think she had black couldn't really tell... She didn't stick around long after the paramedics arrived.

There was no apparent serious injuries in the single car crash. The driver of the vehicle was apparently intoxicated.

Soon as the paramedics took over, she jumped in a car and left without saying anything. I think the paramedics pissed her off.

Anyways, drove the truck to work last night and had no issues what so ever with shifting. It still has a slightly high idle though. I don't no if it's me or not but the speedometer appears to climb faster than it did before.

I also called the mechanic shop, I go to and they said they would charge me $200 (for labor) to do the plenum. When I get my retention bonus I'm going to let them handle it.
