Hesitation? Misfire? Vibration under light load
Alright I'm going to test all of it today and ill remove and check the plugs. Thanks ill post again later today
So I put the inline tester on and it said everything was good. Is the belt tensioner pulley supposed to jiggle a little? The one on the original motor did and so does the one off the other motor that I just put on.
Okay good that tensioner was getting on my nerves atleast the one I just put on doesn't make noise now. And the cam sensor I'm guessing is the original off the 97. The sensor itself was black plastic and the top hinge is silver metal. Not sure of its brand though. I know this truck had a new trans put in by the original owner.. not sure why. The sensor got a little bump coming out with the motor but I don't think it hurt it just scraped the plastic a little. Wouldnt it not crank if that was bad? I just installed a new flexplate I ordered from parts geek.com it seemed fine and bolted right on. I'm with the truck now I'm about to remove and check the plug gap for the heck of it just to cross that off the list. Even though they're the champ rc12yc with 0.035 gap it will be fine to gap them to 97 specs of 0.040 right? Thanks again
[QUOTE=HeyYou;3315572]Yup. You can open them up to the spec for the truck. That's just fine. May help with the miss, but, don't hold your breath.
If you still have a miss.... time for compression test......[/QUOTE
Nothin. Like you said though, didn't hold my breath. The plugs were at 0.030 not 35. All of them, but I put them to 40. I just put the plugs in like 150 miles ago and they were all 8 kinda burt on the end like kind of a white residue is that because they were hella hot? And around the bottom, the ring around the porecilin, however you spell it, well the ring was black like carbon already. Then plug #3 had a little oil on it and almost looked fouled with carbon or whatever, couldnt even see the porcelin. I gapped all plugs to 0.040 and sprayed carb cleaner then hit em with a soft wire brush just to get the crap off. I've always been a ford guy and this dodge is pissin me off but I have faith in her. Ill figure it out. So compression test tomorrow. In the rain with the blue tarp. Again. I might do a vacuum test after. Please just stick with me to the end hey you you've been great help. Just might have to send you something. Oh yeah and I got the live data from the obd2. I couldn't look at it while driving in the rain in town with traffic but I looked while parked at my apartment, I work for: and work on my truck at my uncle bears. But fuel sys1 cl, fuel sys2 --, load pct% 4.3, temp 195º, shrtft1%-2.3 to 1.6, longft% 3.1, map psi5.1-5.2, rpm700 (idle in park), vss 0, iat 150, spark adv 9 to 11, tp% 13.3, o2b1s1 (v) 0.1 to 0.8, shrtb1s1% -3 to 1, o2b1s2 (v) .080 to.580, shrtftb1s2% n/a. So.. a bunch of computer stuff. And when I put "to" i mean the #s bounced around. I don't know if this is any help or no bueno because I was stationary. Just want you to know what I know or whoever else may read this( you've been my only help). I know driving with a miss will ruin my cat and o2s but I have to. Ill replace if nessicary, sp check. But will the o2 sensors, or cat, make my truck do any of this. Because I'm not gonna replace either til the miss is history. Its running super rich. Smells like straight raw gas. Misfire, spark, fuel, air. Its not that simple. This time. Thanks hey you. Btw whats your name in the real world, I hope its not hey you. Crappy parents haha rather be named sue

Hell yeah good to have somebody else here helping, thanks man. When hey you sent me that message I thought he was talking about the crank sensor not the cam sensor. I never messed with the cam sensor isn't that somewhere in there near the timing chain
