Default few things.. new being done. and wut needs to be done

ok monday thanks to 97tn4x4 for selling me that transgo shift kit. im getting that installed monday..

also just bought a tranny cooler have it mounted on my truck just have not ran the lines yet to it i might just wait till monday and have my guy do it when he does my shift kit cause he will be putting new fluid in it anyway. and might do that check valve delete thing on one thread.

noticed also while i was mounting the tranny cooler got alot of power steering fluid leaking idk if its from the line or the pump. looks to me like a line but i cant tell.

any ideas how i can check to see if its the power pump or just a line?

spray it off with brake cleaner to clean up the mess, then look for the wet spot.
leaking from the seal around the idler arm on the bottom is a likely candidate, or the seal around the ps pump pulley.

an easy thing to try on PS. get a couple of quarts of PS fluid + stop leak from Prestone or other. (check the proper type fluid, might be ATF+4, might not) and get a turkey baster from walmart. with engine off, suck out the old fluid and discard. refill. run it/drive it a little. repeat 1 or 2 more times till you end up with clean fluid. it takes several fluid changes in the reservoir to clean out all the old fluid from the steering box and lines. see if that helps.

Also, is your ps pump fairly new or old? Mine leaked as well, 97 1500 5.2l. And I starting trying some tests an what not, come to find out the bottom of the pump was so rotted it was slowly leaking through.
