Default Replacement Mirrors

Hey all,

My 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 began having trouble with the stock door mirrors last week. These mirrors are the manual non-sport ones. Every time I drive over about 80km/h, the mirrors blow back against the truck. I took the door panel out and mirrors off, only to find the plastic part of the mirror base that the tightening screws fasten into is damaged/stripped. The typical fix of tightening the screws and putting Lock-Tight on did not help.

What I'm wondering is, what are some good sources of replacement manual mirrors that won't have the loosening problem down the road? And do sport mirrors have this problem? (Can I just find a set of sport mirrors to put on)

Thanks!

You could just get a set on Ebay. I think I gave $25 for a new one for a friend that has the chrome floppy mirrors.
