i have a 1997 ram 1500 with the 4 wd drive shift on the floor the boot that covers it is stuck ive taken out the screws on the top how else is it held in or is a there trick to remove it im trying to replace the 4wd indicator switch

 

There's like 6 or 8 screws underneath the top boot that holds a 2nd one down. You don't need to pull that off to change the switch. It's like a 11/8 or something. Use a open end wrench, I've never pulled the shifter to swap one.
