Default Dodge steering and sway bars..

Does anyone know if a sway bar from a 2500 or 3500 bolt up to my 1500 if i get it from them same year as mine?

Did Dodge make stronger/bigger steering components on the 2500/3500 and will it bolt up to my 1500?

Thanks for the help.

i believe its a little different since the 2500/3500's have dana 60 front axles. You can swap out the axles with ease though!

hit me up in a week if I forget to reply.
I have a dana60 out of a 94 Ram 2500 v10, along with the sway bar and other parts.
The sway bar mounting points on the axles are different.
I'm about to find out how much so, I pulled the d44 and in the process of installing the d60 into my 2001 Ram 1500

To answer your questions...I know that Dodge has 30 mm and 32 mm sway bar diameters. They may have heavier ones on diesel trucks. They'll certainly interchange with the the proper brackets, bushings and links, although you may have to adapt or fab up links (disconnects?).

As far as HD steering, Dodge offered a "crossover" style setup on 98.5 3500 trucks that bolts right in. It significantly increases steering input while reducing bump steer and also allows you to lift the truck without constantly adjusting the toe in/out
Somewhere I have the parts list...

EDIT... I used to have a parts list! I believe it's posted on an earlier thread but I'll see if I can't find where it went.

Found it in the repository of dangerous things...heh heh

For 1999 and earlier trucks you'll need. Moog part #s...

DS1459 TRE to pitman arm adj sleeve
DS1456 RH outer TRE
ES3496 LH outer TRE
ES3497...but you can use your original pitman arm TRE if you want to use your stabilizer, sorry don't have that pn.*
ES3498S adjusting sleeve
ES2012S adjusting sleeve at pitman arm (also OEM on 1500)

*2000 and later trucks use an ES3527 in place of the 3497 as the pitman arm has a larger taper. These trucks will also have to fab or purchase a bracket to use the steering stabilizer.

EDIT...you should always double chk pt #'s if you aren't sure. Rock auto is the best place.

So if I use all the part numbers you gave I couldn't use my steering stabilizer? If not could I just use a dual kit from rough country or somebody?
