Default Suspension Lift Update...

Well guys I got my drivers side rear lifted, didnt go as well as I planned.... I jacked the truck up and put it on jack stands and go the leafs apart ( I had to cut the old bolt off too rusted) and from there I put the new leaf in place and I got it back on and the bolt through the centering hole and as soon as I get it tight I hear.... crack, crack, SNAP and as soon as I heard the first crack I moved away from the fender well because I know that sound.... As soon as I move away I hear POP and as I look there goes my truck (falling away from me) yup the jack stand gave away and down went the truck .. I looked and it didnt hurt anything but I figured thats a sign to stop for now and give it a few days.

No matter how much I torque the u bolts down they still "slip" on that top plate and make that CLUNK noise .. Any suggestions?

well i noticed you didnt use any c-clamps to hold the spring pack together and you have a nice 1/2 gap between the new spring and the old springs. you need to take it all back apart, get some c-clamps on both the front and back of the spring and then tighten down the center bolt til it goes no more. then you wont have any problems. i put a 2" aal in mine almost a year ago, and its still holding up just fine, about 10k on it since too.

Well that was a quick fix.. All I did was jacked up each side at a time and then I cranked down on the nut till all the leafs were touching ... Thanks for your input
