In a pickle
I just picked up these shocks from summit
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SJA-N8017/
because I thought they were right for my sport 97 dodge ram 1500 4x4 because it has that 2.5 in block in the rear and springs upfront should I keep these or get these shocks which is recommended for a base model 97 1500 4x4

i wouldn't think it makes any difference.
when compressed, the lifted shocks are only 1 inch longer, at 15" vs 14". unless you know for sure that your going to super-load the truck and bottom out the shocks, i'd expect the normal ride height range to still be in that middle of the shock travel which is listed as 14-24 and 15-27.
