Default automatic to manual trans swap

anyone out there ever swapped their auto trans for a manual on 94-00 Ram trucks? I've been searching the net for information on swapping from a automatic to a manual trans in 94-2000 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks and haven't been able to find nothing. I am amazed honestly. With a good many of the problems this gen of trucks have with automatics that there isn't more info out there on this. I want to change my auto trans in my 97 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd for a 5 speed manual. I found one out of a 94 1500 2wd with a V6 but don't know if it will fit. I already have some of the components needed for the swap. I've got the clutch pedal brake pedal assembly which looks easy to swap. So if anyone knows if there is a 5 speed manual that will fit my truck let me know. Thanks.

I believe all of the manual trans In the 1500's were the nv3500. The bellhousing and all that is the same from v6 to v8.

Default Found some new info

I did make some progress on my research. Nothing conclusive but I have seen post on this site and others that the NV3500 5 Speed will fit 3.9ltr, 5.2ltr, and 5.9ltr magnum engines. I do know that the NV3500 is shorter than the automatic therefore you could hopefully get the driveshaft from the donor vehicle (if it's the same as your truck i.e. club cab/standard cab) or have the drive shaft extended by a shop. I have heard that the NV3500 came in the Dakota, Ram, and Jeep. So next time I go to the junk yard I hope to see one there now that I have a better idea what I am looking for. Obviously there are some wire issues that will have to be addressed too. I have found info on this too. From what I read there is ways to trick the computer into thinking it still has the auto trans. I hope to get more info as I research both the web and the junk yard. I really want to do this to my truck for two good reasons. 1. to rid myself of the problematic auto trans and 2. to improve gas mileage. If you have any more info for me please let me know. When I can start this project I will be sure to take pictures and video to help others in the future.
