What year harness did they put in, and just why would they do such a thing?

www.car-part.com

It is basically a listing of all the junkyards in america. You search by zip code and the part you need. Should cost about 200-250.

The place you had the work done should fix that IMO.

OR

Go to a junkyard, have them order one. THey have a computer inventory and they can get it ordered from another junkyard. Make sure it is just the engine/tranny wiring harness, and they don't try to rip you by giving you EVERYTHING WITH A WIRE under the hood. Even the PDC and headlight wiring. THey did that to me. Ended up spending 600 dollars for the whole shebang. Much more than I actually needed.

This MUST match:
Model/year
Engine/tranny
Wheel drive (must match your truck's wheel drive, 2x4 or 4x4)

Missing ONE of those will throw everything off.
