so I have to take the starter off first before the pan.. Anything else need to come off to be able to get the pan off??

 

Starter, the braces that go from the motor mounts to the bell housing, and the inspection plate on the lower half of the bell housing. Then its just a boatload of bolts for the pan.

I disconnected my battery, unbolted the starter, and just laid it over the control arms on the drivers side, didn't bother disconnecting the wires. Its sits there pretty nice. (on my 4x4)
