Default front end problem

I drive a 2001 Ram 2500 4WD. I am looking where to start with my little problem.

About three weeks ago, I heard and felt an occassional "clunking" sound from the front driver's side wheel area. No rhyme or reason for the clunk. The past week, it has increased and I hear and feel it more while turning the wheels. I am starting to feel a little drifting in the front end while driving now.

Any ideas where to start looking?

Thanks

if i have to replace the hub/bearing, should I replace the u joint while I am at it?

Any idea how to test both before pulling apart?

Jack up the truck, and wiggle the tire. See what moves, that shouldn't.

Since you are going to be RIGHT there..... I would do the U-joint as well, should the bearing indeed be bad.
