Are these the same ratings for the 02+ model (mines the newer body style with full 4 doors)

 

if yours is a 4wd, and you have 20" rims, you are 7400#.. if it has the smaller wheels you are 8200#.. You and I have the same rig.. mine is a sport.. '02 4wd QC 5.9LV8..

 

We have been setting up our 2000 half ton w/ 4:10 gears to tow a small fifth wheel . ours only 4500lb dry. so think im ok there. and have installed new rear end. shocks, universal joints, and airbags. We will be towing 950 miles one way. one time a year.

I have looked and looked and looked all over the southeast for a CTD, but finding one with fairly low mileage that I could afford was proving to be impossible. However, even though I did not find a CTD, I did pick up an 80k mile 2008 2500 qc long bed with a hemi today! Had to go to Atlanta to get it, gave em 15k for it. I love it! I think it may do better for me than a CTD as we will only use it to pull my camper but once a year, twice at maximum! It is rated to pull 11,400 pounds, so I'm well within the limit now. Thanks to everyone for chiming in on the legal aspect of things, it was really bothering me that I was illegal.
