Default How many sparks per revolution?

5.2L How many sparks per revolution? I am trying to setup my Tiny Tach 2A to get an accurate reading for one of my outboards and I want to use the truck as a guide for accuracy. I was getting a good reading at 4 sparks per revolution.

Is it 4 sparks per revolution?

4 on a four cycle v-8.

Keep in mind, your outboard is probably a 2 cycle. So, it will fire each cylinder every revolution.

A four stroke engine fires all cylinders in two revs, a two stroke engine in a single rev, no matter how many cylinders it has
