Default Timing adjustment?

Is it true on my 99 360 that turning the distributor doesnt change the ignition timing? I read that on another thread somewhere and don't know if I believe that.

all that does is change the injector pulse. The timming is controlled by the crank position sensor and the I A T sensor ( Intake Air Temperature)..and there are a few other sensor that work with the timing also oxygen sensor, coolant temp sensor..

So if my timing is off, it's a stretched out timing chain? No way to adjust timing like you can on a Ford or Chevy?

The cam sensor (pickup coil.....) only controls injector timing. Crank sensor controls ignition timing. There is no adjustment. If your timing chain has that much slack in it, its past time for a new one anyway.
