Volant.... also the most expensive.. it truly insulates the box, the duct, and the hat..

of course, another route is home brew- which doesn't have the nice appearance, but likely insulates as good as the volant..

plus, at least with the volant, you can duct right through to the grill and have true cold air intake going on..

none of it will be that noticeable though.. just my .02..

Honestly it really depends on what your looking for. So what do you want it to do and what do you do with your truck?

Im not really sure... according to the 2 sites they produce about the same HP and I just got the Hypertech tuner so I got that installed.. I like the "sucking" sound that the K&N does on my Camaro...

Volant and S&B, or ofcourse something like AIM has.

In reality they all aren't very far apart in performance. They are just an intake for crying out loud, you aren't going to get an enormous gain over the factory setup. They will flow better and give you better throttle response. It really depends on what you want, if you want it loud, go with a 14x3 or other open element CAI. If you want it quiet like the stock setup and still get a nice little improvement, go with a sealed setup.

For the price the S&B is a great product.

There is already a very large thread on CAIs in the FAQ section. I'd just hitting that up, lots of info.

the s&b looks good but i dont think it would be hard to add that top see through piece to the spectre. im pretty sure u could buy the spectre off amazon for 94-100 then mod the box to be like the s&b for alot cheaper than the realy s&b setup.
