I dont know that I would say a 318 is a better engine if gas mileage is all that matters might as well get a v6. As little the difference is on paper it makes a huge difference when driving,

6K is crazy for a 97 regular cab. $3500 to $4000 tops

Actually, IIRC, the 318 has LOWER compression than the 360 does.
I'm thinking the 360 has 9.1:1, and the 318 has 9.0:1. Or maybe 8.9:1.

Well you know what they say. Cash talks BS walks. Since hes wanting 6grand I doubt he would go below 4. So show em 4thousand cash money. People jump when they see green bills. I think anything above 4500 would be asking to much. It's a nice looking piece tho.

That 5% window tint will be a pain in the @$$. At night you will barely(if at all) be able to see without rolling your windows down. Also tint laws in the DC area are 70/50/50 and VA is 50/35/35 if I remember correctly, so depending on your cops/safety inspectors you may or may not have a problem with it.

Thanks guys. I think I've decided however to just keep looking for a other truck. Yeah it's nice and all but I don't see how I can convince someone to bring the price from 6k down to 5k or below. I'm 18 and never bought a car before it's my first time and I have no idea how this all works lol.

It will be tough for an 18 year old to talk to an older adult and get him to bring the price down. My best advice is to walk in there like you know what your talking about and offer 4K straight cash. Be confident, but not cocky. It will get you places, so will CASH!

You would be amazed at what the sight of a stack of hundred dollar bills will do to people.......

If you go in there, and are NOT all excited about it, do the "its just another truck to look at" thing..... spend some time looking at it, point out issues, and also some of the good points, then, make him the offer, SHOW HIM the money.

I have also found that age isn't always a factor. If you act like you know what your are doing, people assume that you do.

Well I made the offer for 5grand cash over an email. He said he had several other guys that were interested in the truck. This is Washington area, lots of folks roll around with big money and won't give the 6k a thought. Trucks like this are a rare sight on craigslist. We'll just see what happens from here.
