Default ATF+4 in dif's and transfer case?

Need to change the fluid in my Diff's and Transfer case, just use ATF+4? if yes, how much in each approximately? Or just fill till its just below the filler screw?

Transfer case, yes. Couple quarts. (less than 3 I think)

Differentials: 80w90 gear lube, or, if you do a lotta towing, 75w140 synthetic.

Fill all three to just below the fill plug level.

tcase - only about 1 quart.
tip #1 - the hex plugs are 10mm, not 3/8. 3/8 will strip out the insides.

tip#2 - remove the fill plug first. that way if it strips. you don't have an empty tcase.

diff's hold about 2.5 quarts each (i think). walmart sells dif fluid in gallon jugs for the reasonable price of about $12.

I don't reccomend switching your diff oil to synthetic at higher mileage. I have done alot of gear changes because of people not taking the advice and wiping there bearings out within 1-3K miles of the switch to sythetic.

I've built custom axles for many years, I'm not feeding a line of %@^*&^!

I don't doubt your credentials... but i've never had an issue swapping back and forth in the diffs or the regular oil for that matter, nor have other members I know personally. ymmv
