Better fuel economy.
Less wear on the trans.
Longer drivetrain longevity. Thinks like u-joints and such will love you for it.
It really is a good plan. There isn't a downside.

front and rear, done properly- yup.. that is a good deal.. or a decent deal.. around here, it cost between $300 and $400 an axle for labor, and the R&P's are around $300ea as well..
total: $1200~$1400 for the entire job.. not too bad.. figure in another $50 or so in gear oil @ +1k miles too..
