How much fluid in Tcase?
Interesting, Judging from the state of the differential fluid, tranny fluid, and the oil when I bought this truck a month ago, I thought for sure the Tcase fluid would have been dirty as sin...But nope....was clear ruby red...nearly perfect.
I guess the previous owner didn't use 4x4 much? is that what makes the fluid wear? (4x4 usage).
I recently changed all the other fluids, was gonna finish up with the Tcase tonight...oh well....anyone need 2 quarts of ATF+4? LoL....

transmission generates a LOT of heat and continuously erodes steel, clutch, and band material into the fluid. so it turns dark or black over time.
t-case is a simple pile of gears, bearings, and chain that don't pollute the fluid so much. it also doesn't get very hot. and finally our synthetic atf+4 is some good stuff. it should be at $5 per quart.

Check the HAYNES manual, or the free download of the Factory Service Manual, available in the FAQ section. Or better yet, LOOK in the FAQ section to begin with, the first page of the FAQ section has a complete guide to fluid capacities and such.
