Steering Column Swap Help
Ok, I removed and installed a steering column from a 1999 Dodge Ram into my 1995 Dodge Ram, Both Columns had cruise control, Everything matches up including the wiring for both columns. But I can not get the cruise control to work, I noticed that the clock spring wires are different in the amount of them between the years. Anyone have the pin out for a 1995? Or the service manual for a 1995? also anyone have a idea how to make the cruise work?
Check this thread. Links for various year service manuals.
Also, the clock springs weren't the best design..... if the steering wheel rotates too far, it will trash it.

Hi Heyyou,
I know what you mean about the clock springs, I have trashed one in my caravan before, But the clock spring is still intact on this one, as the horn works, Thanks for the links by the way

Have a look at wiring diagrams. All the wires should have the same jobs, just maybe different pinouts on the connectors?
I am curious if you can make this work, 'cause if'n ya can, I like the cruise buttons on the 98 and up locations better.

Well, From the pinout, It states that the 95 on button causes continuity between a couple of the wires, while the 98 has only a click button instead of the steady on button, I might try running a wire directly to the locations instead of using the stock wiring.
I should also note, That I have installed cruise into my 1997 Dodge Caravan that did not come with it. So this should not be really that hard compared to that. Will update as I go along

On my 96, which should be the same style as the 95, the On button is just a momentary switch, that suggests to the PCM, that ya wanna use the cruise. The PCM then turns on the funny little light, and starts paying attention to the other buttons. (set/resume etc.)
Just looked at the wireing for your 1996 and it seems they went with the single switch for on and off in that year, On the 95 they have a on and off switch that are separate. Wanna trade trucks? :P Yours would be easier to wire then mine. Anyone have the pinout for the PCM on a 1995 Dodge Ram? As the manual does not contain that. (weird I know)
