i went to the transmission shop today and took off the snap ring off from the compressor tool so i can replace the clutches n steels and then the guy came back with the aligned tool. he put it in, aligned it and then took it out, then i compressed it again to put back the snap ring..but im thinking the aligned tool should be in it while compressing it to put the snap ring in or something else..

Nope, can't leave the alignment tool in it, and you have to be sure to be very gentle reinstalling the unit on the out-put shaft,so as not to accidentaly spin the sun gear.If it does happen though, you can usually give it a left to right spin washing motion and get it to come back into alignment with the shat engaged on the first set of spline.
Oh yeah, don't let the intermediate shaft support that od and direct drive clutch housing in any way, you'll wipe the bushing in the back of the main housing.

Ur right..i had to align it correctly 3-4 times. Got it connected n successfully went thru..fr bottom to top, i did it in 3hrs w sum breaks in between infos abt 46re online and clerance. Not bad for first timer..one thing abt the band adjustment, which tool can i use to adjust it w the torque tool on? I had to use a loose socket that barely fit and i think i did it right..now the valve body is in w the park rod installed n oil filter kit..tmw gonna torque it up the oil pan. Then it goes in the truck..jus cant wait to start the engine and see if it actually moves.
