Default Movable winch?

I have an idea and want to know if its reasonable. I want to be able to put a winch on the front or back of my truck and make it moveable. What I mean is put a receiver hitch on the front of my truck (already have one on the back)and be able to move the winch where its needed. So the winch would be mounted on a bracket that fits inside the receiver. Would that setup be strong enough?

Actually, that setup is fairly common. There are winch mounts available that plug into your hitch receiver, and there are front receivers available as well. Only problem I have seen is that the max weight rating on the front hitches is about 9000 pounds. So, just be careful when winching from the front. Also, make sure you run some FAT cables to the rear.
