hey guys. im planning on getting a 360 to swap out my 5.2 with. i found one with 102k for $150. my questions are.....do i need to swap out the engine harness? ill get an sct to take care of the pcm issue. also, what will i have to to as far as the tranny goes? new torque converter, or flywheel, or what? thanks guys!

oh, and im doing this swap for the purpose of more torque for towing and plowing, as well as more piston to valve clearance for a cam swap, and 1.7 rr's.

 

Drop her in , program it and go. T /Converter the same. Just use the flexplate that's on the 360.

 

And the 360 harmonic damper, if for some reason you don't have one

 

awesome, thats good to hear! so my 318 harness will work on the 360? just gotta drive to houlton, maine(5+ hour drive) unless the guy meets me half way, or in the portland-ish area.....

 

Do you know what year it is from?

 

its from either a 98, or a 00, cant remember what the guy said.

 

well, i found a 360 thats about 200ish miles closer than houlton, me. its from a '99, its got 205k on the clock, and he wants 200 for it. i might offer 150ish when i go to get it next weekend if the plenum looks blown, or any other visual issues. cant wait to get this project going!

just gotta find and engine stand, and hoist now.
