I'd get high flow cats, they help with emissions, a little back pressure, and the cats along with the o2's allow your truck to run as close to Stoichiometric as possible "ideal air-fuel ratio" But if anything I would at least the the pre-o2 sensor on. Since that's the most important of them all, that being said, o2 sensors were designed to work with and read off each others readings.
Besides all that junk, that question is how bad do you want the noise over the mpg? once thats figured, you'll know what to do with your exhaust.

Put it in pass side down pipe. Pacesetter long tube's have the o2 placed in the pass side collector reading on side. Reading one side is not an issue or they wouldnt do it like that. What ever you do do not put it in a H pipe. Not enough flow within the H.
