Default 1998 dodge ram 1500 wheel bearing hub assembly problem

I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.2 with dana 44 axle. I installed the wheel bearing hub to the driver side and the bearing came apart both times, the second time it damange my axle threads for the one big nut thats on there is there a torque that the axle nut should be torqued to or should there be a plate that goes on the back side of the knuckle please help its only 2 wheel abs too. thanks

Do you think that is the reason why the bearings keep coming apart?

It's very possible. They need the correct torque or game over.

thanks you have been a big help I will have to buy a new axle shaft as having the bearing do what it did, it ripped the bolt right off the axle. by the way what is the correct part name for the front axle shaft? because i look it up on autozone and it only shows the rear

Stub shaft. Go to quad4x4.com. There are other places to buy them that might be less expensive. My DF bo's will chime in with those sites I'm sure. Give it a couple hours here.
