Dreaded P1757
Well the cel came on today and found it had a fault for
Governor zero pressure malfunction I hooked up the scanner and watched the transmission pressure sensor and it was way off, So I removed the sensors and found the screens where full of gunk. I also removed the solenoids for O/D and Torque converter lock up and cleaned the screens off I have a new sensor and solenoid coming but should I pull the valve body and clean that out? Or are the screens just a common place to collect debris? When I first got the truck I serviced the Trans with new fluid and a filter as the old fluid was well old, so it is possible the new oil picked up the debris that had settled. I have had them open so it would be no problem... just curious.
The truck is a 1998 1500 5.9 the new oil is not burnt but it does have a slightly darker appearance. I also found that when in R there was not pressure but in any forward gear 1, 2, D there was pressure (with the dirty sensor) is this normal or is there a secondary problem?

sounds about normal dude... 'specially dealing with a 'not too well maintained tranny'..
you're obviously not skeered to drop pans and pull parts out of that thing.. in the stead of pulling the valve body, if'n i were you, i'd po'bo flush that rascal.. meaning, i'd get some lower end atf+4 and reload it (pssst: WALMART YO).. run it for a couple weeks, and then replace it with some name brand stuff, and put a new filter on it with the name brand stuff..
whilst you're at it.. a remote filter and check delete is a good idea too..
if'n you're really squirrely, a GM mod may be in order.. How many miles is on it?

140,000 ish The trans was neglected but shifts great when it’s working. I will be doing the check valve delete, is it possible to drill out the brass and remove the spring and ball? I will be opining up the transmission and installing the sure cure kit, external cooler in the near future with a remote filter, well when the truck and my walled stop dating... Just wanted to know that it sounded normal, and if I should do some mid summer cleaning. So I will run the lower ATF+4 till I upgrade the VB. Tank you for the advice.
Is there anything other than the bands I should check over before puting the pan back on? There was almost no particles on the magnet.
