Default Need Help w/ Trans **VIDEO**

alright so ive been havin this problem for about a month now. i will try and describe it the best i can. when im acclerating through the gears the truck is perfectly fine but when i shift from 4th to overdrive or the torque converter locks im having a problem. if i slightly acclerate or let of the pedal a little the truck tries to downshift quickly into 4th then immdediately shifts back into O/D. it does it everytime the truck is "cold" but when it warms up most of the time it runs great. i have a video showing the problem. i have had a few people give me these suggestions, TPS is bad, TV band adjustment, post-cat o2 sensor, trans fluid and filter change.

what do you guys think? ive about had enough of this ****, ready for it to be fixed.

thanks

The RPMs in mine fluctuated like that once when I was having shifting problems.

To me it looks like the same problem that I was having when my TPS went bad. The TC was locking and unlocking continuously anytime I was in OD and not under a load. If you do a search you can find a procedure to check the operation of the TPS.

can someone explain to me what the torque converter locking means? i dont really understand the concept, and since it didnt lock in 3rd gear, what could be the cause of that?

Torque converter lock-up = In a transmission designed with lock-up, there is a clutch within the converter that gives you a truer connection in third and OD. Theoretically giving you a true 1:1 ratio in rpm transfer between the engine and transmission in-put.

Lock-up is not suppose to happen until the transmission reaches 60 deg., and they generally are suppose to unlock while coasting or braking.

I'll be honest in that I didn't watch the video, but their most likely is either a problem with the valvebody solenoid, thermistor, or possibly even the overdrive off switch.

You can test the solenoids from the plug, though to see if there electrically sound anyway.
