Default What is this??

I took off my upstream O2 sensor today. Take it for a drive and then I see this hanging down...

It looks like a vacuum line that inserts into something and is then bolted into place....

It runs up and over the transmission and ties into the drivers side about 3/4 of the way up the tranny.

Where does the other part plug in? And could this be the problem with my tranny not wanting to downshift on it's own when in Overdrive?

I probably bumped the line while removing the O2 Sensor.

That's the vent hose for the transfer case. Just bolt it up somewhere out of the way. Has your trans been out in the past? That bracket I do believe bolts in the same spot as the dipstick for the trans. One of the trans bolts (to the engine) holds it in place.

ok, so just pop a bolt on the trans and stick it on.

I haven't had the trans off. Maybe the previous owner did. He had an after market plenum gasket in and bypass hose, so who knows.
