Default Inconsistent starting

Okay, so i just got my truck 3 months ago, and i've noticed that normally when i start my truck, it revs to about 1500 rpms and thats when it sounds like it roars to life, but occasionally, when its cold and i go to start it, it sorta grumbles to life and never goes above idle speed, which is around 7-800 rpms.

I posted something about a fuel filter a few days ago, idk if maybe my injectors are getting clogged? i doubt it because it clears up and runs fine, it just starts a little rough, or if it might be a timing issue. and idk if this is even really something i need to worry about, but im paranoid about every little thing that doesnt seem right lol

Thanks for any suggestions, Tweav

As you've probably already figured out, remove the TB and clean it and the IAC . While it's off look ALL around inside the manifold and see if you have oil pooling. Remove the negative battery cable before starting the work.

normal cold start rpm is about 1000, maybe 900, then a gradual drop to about 600. consistent low rpm or stalling might indicate a clogged port. consistent high rpm might indicate a chunk of crap preventing the pintle from closing.

i'd replace the iac, and clean the well and port in the back of the TB. about $40-50 at any parts store. don't forget to install the o-ring.

keep the old IAC temporarily. if that doesn't fix it, replace TPS. they sort of interact in some mysterious way.
