Smile Steering gear box - where did you buy it from?

I am going to replace my steering box and have read all the issues surrounding getting a new vs reman. I am going new and have already ordered the stabilizer with the pillow block bearing, but I wanted to know where you got your "box" from? I think I am going with redhead, but do not know the price - Please inform me where you bought yours from and the price -thanks!

Zman I hope I don't get a terd............

Just talked to Rick at Red Head Steering Gears and ordered my new gear. Cost

gear $286
Core $125
ship $32

and they pay for shipping your core back, at which point they will refund the core charge.

Part# 2869
for a 98 ram 4x4 2500 5.9l 8800 gvw

I didn't think this was too unreasonable seeing how the reman boxes are $150 plus core

He also said they use synthetic fluid to test their gears

I don't think you have anything to worry about.
